Is my participant data safe?
Yes. Your data is stored in Australia and encrypted with AES-256 at rest and TLS in transit, the same type of encryption banks use. When Clio Care uses AI, for example to write a note, only the information needed for that task is sent, encrypted, to Anthropic, the maker of Claude, in the United States. Anthropic doesn't use it to train AI models and deletes it within 30 days. We never sell your data. Each worker can only see their own participants and notes, unless they choose to share a participant. Clio is built around the Australian Privacy Principles and the NDIS Practice Standards.
Do I need a credit card to start?
No. Sign up with an email, use it for 30 days free. Add a card if and when you decide it's worth it: $15 a month for 1 participant, or $29 a month for any number of participants.
What happens after the 30 days?
If you've added a card, you pay for the plan you picked, billed monthly, cancel anytime. Starter is $15 a month for 1 participant each month, and Unlimited is $29 a month for any number of participants. Both include every feature. If you haven't added a card, Clio Care reminds you. We'd rather you stop using us than feel tricked into a charge.
What counts as a participant on Starter?
A participant counts once you write a note or book a shift for them in a calendar month. Starter covers 1 participant each month, and the count starts again on the 1st. You can keep as many participants saved as you like, and move up to Unlimited whenever you need more.
How is Clio Care's AI different, and is it allowed for NDIS notes?
Clio Care turns what you tell it into the note, and nothing else. It cleans up your input, structures what you said, flags gaps it can see in your documentation, suggests what a good note would add, and catches the small things you might miss when you're tired at the end of a shift. Your words and your observations stay yours. If you said "she picked it up quickly," the note says "she picked it up quickly," not "she demonstrated rapid skill acquisition." Clio never invents details, never adds events that didn't happen, and never replaces your voice with AI language. Using AI this way is allowed under the NDIS Code of Conduct, which asks for notes that are accurate, honest, and transparent. Clio is built around all three. The AI assists, you author, you sign off.
Who is Clio Care for?
Independent support workers who run their own NDIS work. You have your own ABN, you support self-managed or plan-managed participants, and you invoice them or their plan manager yourself. Clio Care keeps your notes, invoices and paperwork in one place.
Will I need to become a registered NDIS provider in 2027?
Possibly, depending on the supports you deliver. Registration expands to higher risk supports, such as personal care and daily living supports, from 1 July 2027, and the final list hasn't been published yet. We've set out what's confirmed and what isn't in our 2027 registration guide.
What if I cancel? Do I keep my notes?
Yes. Every note can be exported as a PDF, including before you cancel. The ATO requires sole traders to keep business records for five years, so your notes are yours to keep.
Can participants sign service agreements electronically?
Yes. You sign the agreement in Clio Care, then send a secure signing link to the participant, their nominee, or their guardian by email. They read the full agreement and sign it from any device, and the signed copy appears in your account with the signer's name, the date and time recorded. Electronic signatures on service agreements are valid in Australia under the Electronic Transactions Act. Prefer paper? Sign your half in Clio and print the PDF for an in-person signature.
Can I use it on my phone?
Yes. Clio Care is on the App Store for iPhone and on Google Play for Android, and it also works in your phone’s browser.
